The Support Systems Homes team continues to grow! Sonja Riley has joined us as our new Director of Clinical Outreach.
In this role, she’s responsible for connecting with medical facilities, social workers, and the community at large. She’ll build our relationships with healthcare services throughout Santa Clara County. She’ll also work to grow awareness in the Silicon Valley community, and help those suffering from addiction find the treatment they need.
Sonja comes from a background of helping. She worked as a mortgage banker for 9 years, helping people with their financial future. Why switch career paths?
Sonja suffered from, and recovered from, substance use disorder. She’s been in recovery for 9 years now.
In 2011 she began working in treatment services. After experiencing the power of recovery for herself, she decided to help others experience it too.
In the past 8 years she’s worked as a drug/alcohol counselor, a Director of Risk Manager, a Director of Alumni Services, and now our Clinical Outreach Director. At this point she knows all the “ins & outs” of addiction treatment!
Sonja’s passionate about strengthening the world’s trust in addiction treatment centers. Increasing the quality of care, and the reach to people who need it. Try to find the right place for the right person.
“People need the proper care in a safe place. In many cases that is one of our treatment programs. We work to provide appropriate services for anyone asking for help.”
To help her further these goals, she’s working on a Master’s degree in Psychology, with a concentration in Addiction. We’re thrilled she has such passion for improving our field…and the quality of our treatment programs.
Sonja lives in Santa Cruz, CA. She’s a self-professed “travel junkie” who loves exercise and volunteering in what little free time she has.
Please join us in welcoming Sonja Riley to the Support Systems Homes team!
